What makes of a tragedy a never ending charming story?
In our collective imagination Verona is Juliet, romantic, frail, naive and brave girl. The medieval atmosphere permeates the city and makes it easy to identify in Romeo and Juliet walking along lively streets, under the balcony, in the shade of a cloister, in front of her grave.
Juliet guides us from the 1300s to modern days, from Piazza Bra to Porta Borsari, Piazza Erbe, Piazza dei Signori, Via Cappello in a journey that reveals an historical, cultural and social stratification. Bandello’s and Da Porto’s tales, Shakespeare’s poetry, local tradition, Italian and international movies made of this character a friend to meet, and a confidant to write letters to.
