This tour has been laid out for the ones that arrive in Verona for the first time or simply want to see its most famous monuments. A walk to discover Verona’s beauty, culture, the landscape, traditions and local curiosities.

Our visit begins without doubt, at the Brà Square with the most important monument in town, the Arena from Verona, a masterpiece of Roman times, together with other monuments that tell about Verona’s history.

Going along the small streets in downtown we will reach Castelvecchio, the Middle Ages’ icon, built under the rule of the Della Scala family, with its impressive bridge, the Gavi Arch from Roman times. We will go along the ancient Postumia Street passing by a Roman Gate that will lead us to the Herbs Square, the old Forum of Verona, with the typical street market, nowadays a tourist magnet to buy souvenirs; from here we will visit the Lords’ Square, seeing the palaces of the Della Scala family, the Palace Della Ragione, the Dante statue, the celebrated Italian playwright who lived in exile in Verona. Not far away from here we will see the tombs of the Della Scala family, “ Arche Scaligere”, a classic gothic masterpiece in Verona.

Stone Bridge

On our way ahead we will pass by Romeo’s house to reach again the river Adige, and we will have from there a nice panorama of the Saint Peter’s hill and then we walk as far as the Stone Bridge, the only roman bridge that remains in Verona. Passing near the cathedral and going along typical old streets of Verona, we will end our tour at Juliet’s house, which became famous because of the tragic love story written by Shakespeare that made Verona a celebrity all around the world.
