The rule of Venice over Verona lasted from 1405, the year of the "dedication" to the Serenissima after years of wars between local lordships, until 1797, when Napoleon forced the dissolution of the Republic. A long and complex period, not always peaceful but which nonetheless favored a remarkable artistic development, especially in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. The architectural momentum was impressive: in the private sphere, with the erection of numerous noble palaces and frescoed houses, in the public sphere, with the rearrangement of the squares and palaces of the power, and in the ecclesiastical sphere, with the building of splendid churches, guardians of Venetian painters and their disciples.

Abstract
A visit dedicated to the Venetian Renaissance in Verona can take place outdoors, touching above all the area between Piazza dei Signori, where the palaces of Venetian political power are concentrated, and Corso Cavour, where the aristocracy used to build its homes. For a more in-depth visit, we suggest selecting some church interiors, authentic art galleries.
