The word Valpolicella for many people is mainly a synonym of "Amarone" and in general of a very prestigious wine area: three valleys between Verona and Lake Garda, with hundreds of wineries, both large and famous, both small and preciously looking for distinction from the crowd. But Valpolicella is much more: prestigious Renaissance villas, churches and parishes dating back to the Lombard and medieval times, sumptuous gardens.
